Hahahaha this post has been staying in my Drafts ever since I promised to write a post on my Ubin trip on the 19th last month and I'm finally willing able to sit down here to type this whole post out ^^
Hehe I have to admit that when my parents decided on going to Ubin, my sisters and I were pretty skeptical. Like 'Who goes to Ubin now????' and 'What can you do on there???'. But oh wellzzzz, everything turned out well in the end and my family really enjoyed ourselves ^^
Let's just skip the whole preparation process and fast forward to us finally boarding the ferry after a long wait at the holding area where photography wasn't allow. Felt like I was held in a prison coz it was dull and dark with a security gate lolololol.
Hohoho I started snapping photos when on board ^^ During that 10-15mins ride, I was hell afraid that my cap was going to fly off or my camera dropping into the waters. HAHAHA and to make things worse, I was starting to get dizzy halfway through coz my motion sickness was acting up again zzzz.
The captain's seat is really cool!!! It still has the old kind of wooden steering wheel ^^ Lololol I think if the captain removes all his stuff, the boat will look oh-so-vintage-y!!!
Oh oh oh, the day I went Ubin was around the start of the haze so I felt like I was being shipped to some unknown mysterious island since it was just haze around us HAHA.
Get what I mean??? We couldn't see anything from the boat, REALLY!!!!
Errr and our ferry docked at Ubin where I happily skipped onto the island!!! ^^
The air there was refreshing compared to Singapore's then hazy/dusty air!!! Maybe Ubin's hazy air is fresher than Singapore's non-hazy air HAHA. And the smell of the village was like another step closer to Mother Nature ^^ I love the village's air and smell lolololol.
Our ferry!!!! It was really scary having to hop onto the stone steps from the shaky boat :/ Especially with a dizzy head hahahaha.
MUAHAHA for once my forearms look thinner than usual!!!! Er I was wearing a singlet and FBTs coz I was expecting Ubin to be really hot and sunny and wanted to even out my tan lines, and it really did!! ^^ And I wore my pretty sports shoes which came into great use when trekking on the bumpy rocky roads!!
This photo reminds me of like the Execution Rocks from an episode of Ghost Adventures. It was some place where prisoners will be killed through an insanely sick way of tying them naked to the rocks, which were visible during the low tides but submerge during high tides. It's just a horrible way to die ); You should totally watch Ghost Adventures if you haven't already!!!
I told my mum to post for a photo with the board and she was like "FOR WHAT?" and gave me the are-you-mad look, the pains of getting a nice photo -_-
Lololol a dog with pretty fur suntanning.
My family walked into the village and this guy started promoting his bikes (rentals) to us. And my dad agreed after less than a minute of persuasion. So we rented bikes for the next 4 hours until 6PM!! I was telling Daisy that we should get bikes with high seats coz it'll look cooler and she did.
Who knew her bike's gear screwed up so, I volunteered to change it for her, only to my horror, I realized my feet couldn't even touch the ground -.- Dumbzxc much. The gears were spoilt after much fiddling by me & my dad so my dad headed for the bike shop ~400m away while we waited at a shelter!!!
My blue cap's coming into great use!!!! Protected me from the sun hehe, but it sort of got in the way when I was cycling. It nearly flew off my head a few times, making me scream once in a while -_-
Oh yaaaa and I helped Daisy braid her hair and I have to admit that my skills are not too bad HAHA.
NICE HOR? Thank you thank you. Hahaha and ya, Daisy's stupid Running Man shirt! HAHA, it's stupid, honestly. Why are you parading around with a tag that has your name on your back??? And Daisy was so afraid that someone will rip the tag out and make a gigantic hole on her back. Which makes it more stupid. But oh wellzzz people can do whatever they want to and I have no say in it but to judge HAHAHA.
Moving on. After my dad returned with a new bike, my family embarked on a journey to find Mother Nature ^^ Off we went, deeper into the island to... CHEK JAWA. It's just a part of the island with a pretty bridge, strong winds and nice scenery!!!
NICE RIGHT. The background!!! Should photoshop Daisy out of the photo, add some filters and it'll become a nice vintage-y lane ^^ Speaking of filters, I've included this section below where I'll be sharing the filters/ apps I use for my photos!!!! HAHA yeah yeah, I was really free during the holidays to make those photos.
Another nice photo, with my dad and sisters. My dad had to share a bike with my useless 妹妹 who doesn't know how to cycle. And she freaking leaves all the cycling to my dad -_-
Oh oh I must mention that being the photographer of the day is damn tiring zzz. I had to stop, take my camera out, snap a photo, keep the camera and speed ahead to catch up with them. So 麻烦 right.
The path to Chek Jawa was REALLY tiring :/ Uphill slopes came one after another, and the rocky path wasn't really helping. We had to get off our bike to push coz it was nearly impossible to cycle up those slopes zzz.
Finally reached the entrance of Chek Jawa and we had to park our bikes outside this gate. Apparently biking isn't allowed in there and I wonder why. OH YA and guess what we spotted on our way in???
CAN YOU SEE IT???
BET YOU CAN'T!!!!
Look closely at the center of the photo!! It's a wild boar'd ass!! HAHA it was a huge wild boar!!!!
SEE. I think its fat body was about the size of mine!!! And guess what, there were BABIES!!!!!!
LOLOLOL an obvious sign for us to scram before the mum comes charging at us!!!
We walked on and landed up at a cute little cottage!!!
Isn't it pretty?? Totally dream-house material. Who doesn't wish to have a cottage surrounded by greenery and fresh air and it even comes with a sea at its backyard. Talk about the riches.
Please read the words in the photo. I put it there for a reason dude.Freaking hell, it was built in the 1930s and it's really pretty ); The person who built this is SOOOO good, he/she should build my house next time if he/she ever comes back alive LOLOLOL.
So while my family went to explore the house interior, I went to the right side of the house to snap close-ups of the stairs which leads to the sea.
Went into the house after I realized I was all alone outside...
LIKE WOAH. There was a fireplace!!!!!!!! So fairytale-ish right ^^ LOLOL actually not really, don't be fooled by the photos. The place contains fugly fish tanks and exhibition boards so yeah, removes the old cottage-y feel of the house -_-
At the back of the house. Remember the side of the house with the stairs? It leads to the back of the house too!!!!! The structure of the house is REALLY cool and I like it very much ^^ Guess what lies at the back of the house!!!!
THEIR VERY OWN SEA!!!! Omg how cool is that!! Without the bridge (which was built for tourism purposes), it would have just been the rocks and then the sea!!!! Free swimming pool at your very own backyard, I want one tooooooo!!!! ^^
And because the scenery there was SO nice, my sisters decided to pose awkwardly for the camera HAHAHA
Oh oh oh oh, and this is how the back of the house looks like!!!
SO PRETTY!!!! My mum went like "I want my future house to be like that. This can be our house for the next 10 minutes while we take photos with it." and told me to caption the photo of the house as "OUR HOUSE IN UBIN". LOLOLOLOL. And here're some family portraits with the pretty house as our backdrop! ^^
Sigh pie. I think I looked super cui that day. My hair was in a mess and I was feeling all sticky and yucky ):
Tried out some jump shots which turned out really funny HAHAHA
My mum joined us in the first jump shot and failed horribly. Daisy jumped too early and my sisters didn't know the camera was taking 10 shots so they spent the time laughing instead of jumping again.
Errrr and the second one failed again. And... Daisy jumps like a frog. I think we should just stay behind the camera for jump shots next time lolololol.
And Daisy with her "cool" RM shirt...
Lolololol my parents always pose for the camera in the most bochap way ever and my sisters always don't smile for photos.
SIGH why do I always look like a fattypoop beside my sisters ):
My family then headed off for the toilet which was outside the cottage ^^ The toilets are pretty cool in a way because the sinks are open without the usual mirrors. But there was a huge mirror so yayyyy.
And I braided my fringe ^^
YAYZZZZZZ looking so much nicer than before ^^
We walked to the starting point where we headed to another path which was supposed to lead us to the boardwalk but we landed up finding three cute puppies!!!!
The puppies were really cute and my sisters, being crazy dog-lovers, went forward to play with them. I just stood by the side staring at them lolololol. I like dogs, but I'm not comfortable with close proximity with them in fear of ticks/ lice. Because... I got hair lice previously in Philippines and honestly, it wasn't a very nice feeling. So I'm avoiding all possible sources as much as I can now HAHA
While my sisters were playing with the dogs, my mum decided to climb down/up some rocks to get to these rocks a little offshore to look at the seaweeds and pose like Sir Stamford Raffles lolololol.
Continued walking only to meet a dead end. Which was really weird coz the boardwalk was supposed to be there. So my dad decided to be adventurous and walked straight into the forest and wellzz the boardwalk was behind those trees and rocks HAHA
The winds at the boardwalk was really strong!!! Nice and annoying at the same time -_- I was holding onto my phone, DSLR and cap while snapping the photo, I accidentally called a friend who heard me screaming away just when my cap was about to fly off my head. Whoooppps.
Seeeeee the strong winds were blowing our hair all over the place!!!
Anyway, the whole boardwalk was quite scary coz I was so afraid that one of the wooden planks will give way and ploop! I go into the water. But...
The boardwalk wasn't actually made of wood!!!!!!!!!! :O I have no idea what it's really made off but it's something man-made so yeah, I doubt it will give way that easily right...? LOLOLOL I walked fearlessly after that.
That yucky lizard soaking itself in mud, ewww.
My mum's inner kampong-kid self surfaced when she saw these fruits on the ground and tried breaking them open lolololol. But she failed getting the fruit out coz the shell was too hard.
The boardwalk ended and we were eventually back to the entrance where we saw....
WILD BOARS!!!!!
Lololol not just one, but a FAMILY of them!!!!! Parents plus 5-7 babies ^^
The wild boars were surprisingly friendly!!!! I managed to snap that photo without zooming in!!!! Lololol that was how close the babies boar was.
Seeeee!!!! They came closer to sniff at my dad's toes!!!! So cutezxc ^^
The babies with mum/dad lolololol.
Oh oh oh, this piglet was so cuteeeeeeee!!!! It was loitering around by itself and if you looked closely, it's actually growing white stripes!!! ^^ Wild boars with white stripes tend to look more 凶 and majestic!!!
Left Chek Jawa and decided to explore the rest of the island, and lolololol guess what. IT WAS DOWNHILL!!!! Talk about the adrenaline rush when you cycle down those steep rocky slopes.
It was really really fun coz it was just us whizzing through the quiet forest, with occasional rustle of the leaves and the crunch of dry leaves when our bikes go over them. Well, I was enjoying myself until...
Daisy fell off her bike HAHAHA. Okay that laugh made me sound like a major asshole. OH WELLZZZ I did something even meaner by grabbing my camera to snap photos before running up to help her up. Lolololol, I know I'm not exactly a nice sister. WHATEVER.
Lololol on top of Daisy's inexplicably bad riding skills was the really steep slope, so her fall was kind of expected. She always always falls whenever she cycles -.-
Her wounds were pretty bad :/ The blood just kept flowing and flowing. Yuckssssss, I hate blood :X Ohoh and the 'best' thing was that we didn't bring a first aid kit. Lololol so we had to make do with the limited number of plasters, wet wipes and toilet paper. YES WE BROUGHT TOILET PAPER HAHAHA it was my idea coz depending on a few packets of tissue paper to last an entire day on Ubin isn't very practical if you think about it.
Daisy was tearing up so I went up to give her a hug, only shocked to find out that she burst out crying -.- Walaozxc another reason for me to avoid people who are tearing up. Why am I so bad at comforting people haiyoooo.
After the whole self-treatment, we continued with our adventure to the rest of the island!!! Stopped by this lake and realised that the haze situation at Ubin was pretty bad too :/
It was so hazyyyyyyyyy.
Lalalalaaa here's another photo I snapped to show how steep the slopes were.
Hohoho and since this photo has no exceptionally outstanding area of focus, I decided to play around with my favourite filters!!!! ^^ Lololol yeah I was really bored during the holidays. Errr I think most of the effects are all available on Instagram, but since I have no Instagram... I'll make do with this app ^^
I feel like I've been to paradise after looking at these photos (:
OMG OMG OMG I just realized that this app is available on Windows/ Windows 8/ Android/ iPhone/ Mac!!!!!!! You guys should seriously go download Fotor!!!!! It's an amazing app which makes all your photos pretty ^^ It's super user-friendly and the interface is pleasant looking too :>
GO DOWNLOAD, GO DOWNLOAD!!! HERE. Walaozxc I just realized the app has lotsa new functions and I've been missing out so much coz I haven't been updating it!!! Omg I'm going to update it now!!!
Okay okay back to Ubin. So on our way back to return the bikes, we passed by this pond full of lotus and decided to stop by it to stare at them ^^
I HAVE NEVER SEEN SO MANY LOTUS (LEAVES) BEFOREEEEEE. So pretty ^^
And my parents decided to be dumbzxc. Oh ya, look at that haze behind them!
Decided to make a quick ride to the resorts, which was at the other end, and ohmygoddd the resorts were super duper ulu okay!!! Plants were growing around the chalet and we couldn't find the entrance of it, lolololol. It looked so much like a haunted house, seriously. The convenience shop was a 20 minutes bike ride away, which was another boo-point for it. Thank god my family didn't decide on renting the chalet HAHA
Anyway, do grab a fresh coconut at the shops if you ever go to Ubin. The coconuts look really yummy and refreshing ^^ We didn't managed to get one coz all of us were full from the amount of drinks we had -_- Ended up heading for the jetty with my sore ass lolololol.
It was around 7PM when we reached Changi Village and it was too early to see any transsexuals HAHA. So sad, I was so excited to see them!!! The last time I saw them was during my grandpa's funeral and my cousins took my sister and I out for a spin at Changi Village. I vaguely remember some, and they were really pretty!!!! Hehehe I'm looking forward to whatever chalet I'll have near Changi after A's so I can catch them in action ^^
Took the shortest route home via bus and when we alighted at Sengkang for a transfer, the haze was looking shockingly worse than it did the past week. Tired us only found out the PSI levels were at a record-breaking high 321 on the bus, when my dad peeked at a random person's phone.
Hohoho, wow a day of intensive cycling at Ubin when the haze hit PSI 321 and everyone's cooping themselves at home with a mask HAHA what a joke. Managed to take a photo of the haze scene in Woodlands lololol the expressway was barely visible.
This pretty much sums up my day at Ubin!!!! I already tried to minimise all the words and let the photos do the talking but oh wellzzz I failed horribly. Everything's so worth mentioning hahaha. I shall re-read my whole post now and cut down on all the unnecessary content now!!!!
Wa shitzxc I think I'm zilian :O I have this habit of just grabbing a random phone and start reading my own blog when I'm bored lolololol. And I actually laugh at my own blog posts. Errrrr this is awkward... HAHAHA and I always go around telling people to read my blog. Maybe I should stop it. Ugh, but I love attention too much to stop doing that.
What should I dooooooo? LOLOLOL I think I'll just stop tweeting about my new blog entries after this post. Too AA liaozxc hahahahaha. Okay I seriously need to stop having a monologue, start on work and maybe go for a run later. Grumpy me didn't run yesterday and I'm feeling like a lump of fats now HAHA. And I want to get braces soon #justbeingrandom
On a side note, I won't be blogging anytime soon!!!! Don't miss me too much okay ;) Preparations for Prelims are starting and I seriously need to brush up on my studies. Which means I have not much time to blog.
Ughhh I still have so many things I want to blog about, for example, Council. Perhaps I'll get started on that post tonight but regrettably, the post won't be posted anytime between now till I graduate. Coz... it will be a post which covers lotsa sensitive topics and let's just say, it contains all the grey areas of the workings of 45th & Council in general. I'm afraid I'll get into trouble if I post it now. So yeah, that's all for today.
Hehe and my scrapped knee's getting better!!! ^^
BYEBYE ^^
