Let's snake out

CNY this year was kind of boring...

Only went to my aunt's house on the 2nd day of CNY and Jup's house the next day.

Watched climbing videos, played cards & mahjong, ate yummy food. ^^

Ugh. Did I ever mention that I didn't buy any new clothes for this festive season 'cause my parents told me we weren't going anywhere? So annoying. So I had to wear 'new' clothes which were previously worn by my mum.

Shall buy some new clothes next year after I earn my own moneyyyyyyyy.

Sigh, you know I woke up feeling kind of weird this morning. That kind of feeling you get when you seem to recall you have something on today, but you just can't remember what it is. Well, I finally remembered it. Okay, I didn't exactly remember it, someone called an hour ago to sort of remind me.

To be honest, they didn't even call to remind me. They called to invite me to go their right away, simply 'cause they forgot to tell me about it.

Sigh, this feeling really sucks. Always missing out on the latest updates. Always having no idea on what's going on. Always getting left out. It's all happening 'cause of one simple reason.

I have no Whatsapp.

Yeah, many often ask why don't I just throw my Nokia phone and replace it with one which has Whatsapp. I'll just brush them off saying "I will change it soon." but this isn't the real reason of course.

When I first got my plan the beginning of last year, I gave my little sister my 360 texts per month mobile subscription plan because there was no means of contacting her. Being a nice sister, I even gave her the chance to choose whatever phone she wanted, while I offered to stay with my Nokia phone. Yup, life goes on until suddenly after June, everyone changed to using Whatsapp and my unlimited texts were rendered useless. So everyone switched to Whatsapp, conveniently leaving out those who didn't have smartphones or data plans. That's when it started.

They chatted with Whatsapp. They laughed at inside jokes. They poke fun at each other. They bonded. They got close to one another though they don't even talk in real life. Wow, the amazing power of an instant messaging app.

Yup, so I missed out on lots of stuff the whole of last year. Grad night, surprise parties etc. But I was perfectly fine with it. 'Cause hey, I managed to continue living even when I didn't have unlimited texts the past few years when everyone had unlimited right. Life goes on, until this month when I flung my phone on the floor accidentally and two black spots appeared on my screen. My phone was still usable so I didn't complain much.

But just a few weeks ago during Orientation, my phone got REALLY wet during Showdown preparations. I thought it would revive itself like previous times when I countlessly dropped it into the toilet bowl or buckets of water. Guess Lady Luck left my side by then 'cause water apparently got into my SIM card and battery and buttons compartment. Yup, so my phone screwed up ever so often after that, with my reject-calls button and 0 button permanently spoilt.

This gives me a reason to request for a new phone right?

I've told my parents about how screwed up my phone is with a spoilt screen and keypad, and needing a new phone. But we'll end up quarreling :/

FYI, I don't blame anyone for anything, nor is this post directed at anyone specifically. I just needed to rant.

P/S I'm still living fine without whatsapp, if that's what you are wondering at this point in time.
